Vaneeesa Blaylock The Work & The Concept

I'm dancing at an SL club called Wet Kitty ATM. It's a really fun place...but I'm here because I'm out scrounging for cast for my next performance 5 days from now. I'm talking to someone who's spewing out all kinds of really interesting philosophy / ideas right up my alley... but all I want to do is say, "OK, can I sign you up for the performance now?" Funny how the demands of getting the work produced can sideline the content itself! :P Continue

Kanomi Pikajuna A Bright Swatch of Color in the Old Gray Lady

I made a blog post about the wonderful article the NY Times Sunday Magazine did about the art scene in SL. Here is a portion of it: "Another annoying but regularly recurring type of article is of the "I tried Second Life but I just don't get it!" variety, as if a failed attempt to use a piece of online software is something worth publishing and of interest to an avid reading public..." Read all about itContinue

RAFTWET Jewell S&S Gallery by Stefanik Dagostino

I took a bit of a break this past month. Just a way to refocus and get ready for the spring rush of changes on the Second Life grid. It seems to me that the grid is hopping with new sims, new places, new clubs, new events and a reassurance that we are not going to let the economy of the world stop us from creating, networking and enjoying this place. Sledge Roffo I BUILT IT...Now, Will they Come?

Using a prior sculpture I made last year in my architectural Mondrian phase, the new gallery building went up fast and really does accent my art quite well. I'm rather proud of the way it turned out and it has the potential of being a fantastic place that people will want to visit. It isn't possible to build anything like it in real life with floating pictures and transparent boxes throughout the ceiling and on the roof so it truly is a Second Life experience. I'm celebrating the new building th… Continue

Terry Toland LotBaN - Life out on the Street: the Freak Showroom Exhibit

RAFTWET Jewell HAAD RIN @@ BEACH

Shopping today was a mix of malls and boutiques. I was on a mission to find a bob that the X-man would love. I came across the PPanda Mart with several boutiques with very inexpensive clothes and accessories. A fun place to shop, but as usual, I was interrupted by the little blue window in the upper right hand corner of my screen... where to now?… Continue

RAFTWET Jewell My First Party at RiverLand on WET Lands

Tuesday and Xavier announces his real life birthday is the next day. Congratulations, I say... he says,"Hey, let's have a party this weekend." Whaaaa??? I balk big time. I've never had a party on any of my lands. I party everywhere on the grid, taking advantage of the awesome events and happenings everyday in Second Life. But... I've never thrown a party here. RAFTWET Jewell H O M E

Well, we had a wild week of organizing the new group, The A List. I never dreamed that we would have the incredible response to the group invites. We are just a little under a hundred people. Wow! So many people feel like we do. Unify, network, traffic, prosperity... it really does work. Continue

RAFTWET Jewell OLD FACTORY PSY PARTY EVENT

I just met DJ Livevil over at BassLine Junkiez last night. We had a nice little chat about art and music. Later that evening, I went over to catch the last hour of DJ Qee at Organica. Who was there morphed and muted? DJ Livevil. So, we continued our chat. Today, he sends an invite to Old Factory... a favorite club of mine.… Continue

RAFTWET Jewell HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!

OMG! My sim is months late in opening. LOL! Oh well, I was never really on a schedule. Those of you who know me... you know, I am not in a hurry to open the sims. Right now, I am so enjoying having the space for myself to build and enjoy. I love my WaterWorks swim hud to death. I wear it always and every chance I get, I swim around the sims. I went back to WaterWorks and bought several for friends. It is a MUST have item for every av… Continue

RAFTWET Jewell Second Life Couples

When I first got to Second Life, my focus was purely to learn about building and scripting. Well, friends and parties diverted that focus and now I simply enjoy my time having fun and networking with friends. With that social contact comes relationships. Some are very temporary as many leave disillusioned. Other relationships become more lasting such as my two brothers, Ronnie and Stig. I even have a SL dad, Nos. All three have been good friends, and we do our best to support each other.… Continue

RAFTWET Jewell Second Life Bloggers (((( BOOM ))))

Wow! I am approaching my second year in Second Life. Time sure flies by. (oh, how cliche...) This weekend I have been TP'ing from event to event, party to party and building on the land. I am working on the new sims and sometimes I just need a break. Builders know what I mean. You freshen the brain by listening to favorite tunes and going to friendly clubs. Or you go listen to live music and just refocus on the build. This weekend has been party central for me. I am stuck at… Continue

Sadie Pippita ~*Sadie Made*~

Sadie Made is my own original artwork from RL brought into the virtual world. I am trying it out to see what the response would be to my work. I agree everyone has their own style and taste in art so I know that this is not for everyone. They are images created from within my imagination, brought to life through my sketches, paintings and drawings. My art is an expression of myself. Nothing more. None are copied and all are mine. Please check out my shop. Maybe you will find something there that… Continue

Harper Ganesvoort Explorations in Art

I've been doing some exploration again, and my two discoveries are distinctly art related, and liable to give (ahem) susceptible types -- especially from the Sixties -- a severe case of flashback: First, a forest of alien plants and rocks in Moldof sector. Second, Zero Point, a big light-sculpture complex i… Continue
