It is, it is... my fae avatar wears his wings proudly, but even when he glamours them away to hobnob with mortal folk he's got pointed ears hiding under that mop of hair, and eyes that never seem to be the same color as the last time you looked...
In world, I actively identify my self/avatar as a fae. I have wonderfully pointed ears (when possible) and my outer eye-corners are naturally up. Though, I can see how others might identify me as a human if they do not look close enough. Then agai...

My fantasy avatars include those for roleplay, non-human or even humanoid (in fact, one of my favorite avatars is myself as a galactic cloud).
For roleplay, of course aside from av shape and skin and dress, there is backstory, motivations, titles...
