I was invited with pleasure to have a speech in this conference.
Its main subject was talkings about all art/artist and all forms of art related to Second Life and how all residents can improve RL galleries diffusion of SL art. Plus we all discussed on creating a sort of panel which could be used to preserve artworks and installations, even entire sims workofarts, that could vanish from the grid.
This conference was held by the Rome Museums gov. entity in an historical setting like it is the ARA PACIS Monument Museum in Rome Italy, and streamed on one of the public (main) italian tv channels.
Speakers where various and we had the pleasure to listen to De Kerchove, Mario Gerosa (Second Life italian book author, Rinascimento Virtuale book and exhibition maker, AD Architectural Digest Chief Redactor in Italy), Fabio Fornasari and many others.
We had art numbers explained by the financial expert Luca Spoldi, and machinema directors showing their works and howtos like Roberta Cirillo and Adelchi Rossini.
I spoke about new changes upcoming on the grid and the many localizations that will have the possibility to download new client in their language, moreover how all these things will change resident experience and enhance art spreadiness and fruition..
Art is an open and changing subject in Second Life, and has a lot of questions coming up. One of these is: how can we take out from the hat of the grid art productions and deploy them in real life?
Fabio Fornasari, architect and museums exhibitions expert, answered in some way to this question.
He pulled out from his bag, while on the stage, objects representing its SL installations and work of arts. Moreover he developed 2 little gadgets bags that a rl person can open to have little items rapresenting Fabio's sims in SL and play with them reconstructing the sim itself on his desk or rearranging it in a new way.
It was astonishing...
and in that moment I felt he filled the gap from pixels to atoms...
Cheers
