My interest is in ADULT adult education, that is, sex education, especially for the 25 years and plus crowd, regarding BDSM and kink. I blog with a few people at Island of Pain blog. Recent articles include:

Is BDSM a Competition?

It's Good to Get Flogged in the Morning

What is a Good Submissive?

Does Pain Turn You on?

Second Life and BDSM

Topping from the Bottom: One Submissive’s Thoughts

as well as a good article if the topic is new to you: The difference between BDSM and abuse

And of course Comments are open on these articles. One can post annonymously (no personal attacks, but differences of opinion are welcome).

Is anybody in this group a friend of Kit Meredith? I was using the time between semesters to catch up on reading some blogs, only to find that sometime over the fall, she left SL and discontinued her blog.

It's not even archived, and I really wanted to have a copy of her post on her rezbian theory. Yes, shame on me for trying to save a tree and not print out the entry when I first bookmarked her blog, but now it doesn't even exist, and I wanted to cite her and incorporate her comments in a paper I am writing. Did anyone happen to save a copy of the post, or know how I might contact her to get a copy of her essay?

Nods at the blue haired girl. The people I know locally who are running some parts of their courses in SL are working with young adults-mature aged students on the main grid. I'm always interested to see how people are using SL, other virtual environments and social networks to facilitate education though, regardless of sector.

my interest is more about adult education, and especially at the junior college and undergraduate levels.

If you haven't already seen it - and are not already familiar with the Peggey Sheehy videos on youtube, you may wish to peek at Vint's post on Peggy Sheehy on education in second life (ramapo islands) - teen grid.

I have traditionally worked in web related roles and have worked extensively with educational organisations and groups and thus am always interested to hear what is going on in education online. I often share resources with my real life contacts who work in education (primarily R-12 and vocational education and training).

I'm very curious about any academic work occurring in SL, but have little time to read or research about it. I hope this group will help me stay a little informed.
