Hello All :) I am and In-world sculptor and photographer and RL digital fine artist and designer. I am SO enjoying making art in SL... for years there have been images coming into my mind and I was always dissatisfied with how I could produce them RL. I'm new to this blog but have been making art in SL since last June 2008. I never thought it possible to succeed at it and was happy just bumming around SL without a care in the world. I didn't even know how to build at the time but took the leap and spent countless hours perfecting my craft. I credit the creators of SL for making it possible for me to make art again since in RL I just don't have the time or place for it. I'm just an artist. I am not a techie but everything I do is done in Second Life with SL tools. I could add some scripting.....would that complete me?

one thing i stress to the newbies and others here in SL:::
we are all artists.
we create our avies artfully with our own interpretation.
isn't that the definition of art?
doesn't matter if we make "stuff".
we create our own essence with our own artistic vision.
art = life

I like psy art... stuff by elros, glyph, cheen, suzanne, bettina... they are complete artists. In other words, they are artists and techies. This is the first place I have ever been where right brain and left brain are one. And you can see it in the artwork and builds here... These artists totally inspire me and make me want to create artful things. My store on Chartreuse has some of my attempts... be kind w/ criticisms... LOL!

I like to make things, some people call them art others call them crafts. I'm just happy to be part of a group of people who like making things and from whom I can learn something.

Art in SL (besides original contemporary literature in SL) is what I log in to do most days. In RL I've got several friends who write code for digital art, one of whom was just featured in a 1st life gallery in Seattle. Dynamic coded art on a screen hung in a gallery .. even a big screen doesn't compare to the immersive 3D shows with motion and sound that one can zoom around in. Or I guess you could compare the two as I just did :)
