Second Life® Bloggers :: Blogging the metaverse one post at a time....

Show your blogs in SL! Show how many blogs are affected by the new TM policy!

OK, I made this tool for all of us in order to show in world how badly the new TM policy could affect us. Zoe and CodeBastard have vendors and I'm sure they'll handle the publication of it to everyone but here it is at my site. It's pretty easy to ignore the whole issue when people are in world because the policy is external to actual Second Life. However with this tool you can take 70 of your favorite sites and put them as displays on your land. I encourage you to take your 70 favorite SL blogs and put them in so that people can see just how big this issue can be. You can get this viewer at my store here. It's only 1L so that I can track how many sell, if you need the 1L let me know and I'll certainly give it to you. I hope this helps. Blog posts about it would also be welcome, spread the word. Thanks to all of you.

70 blogs?! Wow. I don't read 70 total blogs, let alone 70 of S***** L*** related items. I have no idea where I'd come up with 70 to put in there.

But I'll pick up a copy for sure.

The Worlds Biggest SL Blogroll on the front page of this site is a good place to look. lol

I've placed Noelyci's vendor at my office in Port Babbage and my aerodrome in Caledon Penzance.

Will this work if you just rent a house? I'm not familiar with all the details of scripting and HTML-on-a-prim. If you need to own land, thanks much but I got a problem (grin).

Yes Harper, you do need your own land-rights. Renting will not work.

I know how you feel, hon. I was a renter for my first 7 months. In fact the first 2 SLBlogger parties were on my 5th and final rented lot.

(Sigh, grin) Cash flow, chérie, cash flow. Actually, though, I'm rather content with the place I have now. I've finally filled the last room with furniture, and I still have some 70 prims left to my allowance. (Check out my Flickr stream for a look-see.) I had to box up all my Craftsman furniture, though, and I should run a yard sale on the roof of the house to dump it if my landlord will let me.

Actually it will work if you rent as long as you are a member of the group that owns the land. You need media access rights, most renters have this, but you will have to check with your landlord.

I checked, and no good. They already have media streams, including movies, on the land, so that probably locks tenants out. Se la guerre.

I guess I will have to come and see what this is as I'm really not sure what it is or how it works.

It seems that this is confusing to many. This is a tool to allow us to move the web sites that we know will be affected into SL. If you have media setting permissions on the land. The reason to do this is because most of the people who live and breathe 'in world' don't even know about the new policy, it dosen't affect them..... let's show them.

Ok, good
I'm trying it in the Land of Forum di Secondlifeitalia.com (whose blogger is Opensource).
In my test there are only ten blogs at the moment, but I think the number will increase.
Ty for the tool and the idea.

I put this up on my land in Camlann Tarl. Works fine. We were unable to make it work on the land where we have media rights. We set it to group. Couldn't get it to work right. Do love the idea.
