Wish to show allegiance to the endangered species of SL Bloggers

Hello fellow Second Life Bloggers. I am member #66 and I have been meaning to 'hi' forever. Sorry it took me so long...

I want to show my allegiance by dropping the little Second Life Bloggers badge into my sidebar but I can't figure it out at all. I can get a text link but I want the cute black box. I am sure there are other members who use Wordpress who can give me an idea how to do this!
All tips gratefully accepted.

I got bad news and good news!Bad news is wordpress.com users can't have all the badges you see here.Good news is Harper Gaanesvoort made a badge for wordpress.com users.To download this you must go here:

You can put it in a text widget as an image and then also add some certain html code to add a link to the image.I don't know how familiar you are with this (let me know if you have further questions,i\d be glad to help).:D

I wonder if we can put a permanent note on the front page of the group. A lot of us blog for free on wordpress.com, and so we need that thing. (I put the "com" in italics, because you don't have that problem with the self-hosted version you download from wordpress.org. Of course, you need to buy space on a server then.)

Hi Chrissy, I thank you very much for this link to Harper's graphic. I have been unable to make it work! I will keep fiddling with it and reading my Wordpress Help & FAQs for inserting images with an external link into sidebar etc... eventually I will crack it I am sure! (Seems to me that Wordpress is preventing me from altering the html on the tag.) Anyways... I just wanted to say I appreciate the help from you and Harper even though I have not managed anything just yet!

Loom, are you having a problem getting the graphic onto the site? What you should do is

1. Click "Write," then just scroll down to the graphic gallery and upload the image to your blog.
2. When it asks you what to do with the graphic, choose full size and no link, then send it to the editor.
3. Switch from Visual to Code view in the editor window. Copy or cut the entire IMG tag, including the enclosing brackets.
4. Switch to Presentation. (If WordPress asks you to confirm this because of editing changes in the Write window, do so.) Choose Widgets here, and then scroll down and make sure you have at least one text widget that you can place in the blog, if you haven't placed one already. If you need to, go down to the text widgets box near the bottom of the page, and tell it you want x number of text widgets, then save changes.
5. Assuming you needed to add a text widget, look in the block of available widgets again, click on the text widget, and drag it into the sidebar where you want it to display. Then click on the box inside the widget that looks like a page.
6. Paste your IMG tag into the box that pops up near the top of the page, then click the X to close it.
7. Save your changes, then view the blog -- preferably in a new tab -- to see if it looks correct.

If you already have a text widget where you want the badge to lie, you can insert it there. If you have any questions, just reply back, or write to [e-mail].
