Out of curiosity, how many of us are participating in the strike Gwyn called for over the trademark question? If a lot of you are, I apologize for seeming a strike-breaker, but I feel some one of us should cover the news.
I'll publish on this based on replies tonight around 7:30 SLT.
Joining Tiessa, I prefer 'noise' over 'silence' (especially in this situation). So I decided to make making noise worthwile: a 10000L$ bounty for the Best Trademark Parody by wednesday the 23t.... There are some rules though! (Shortly summarized: no goatse style stuff, all entries must be released under CC attribution non-commercial license (or more anything more open like public domain. ;))
Let’s get those creative minds to work, and show Linden exactly why they don’t want to chase us away. We’re amazingly good at creating content for their Second Life®! ;)
I am not submitting posts. I also want to add that I thought Botgirl's reasons for posting made a great deal of sense. Posts like that draw attention to the silence of the blogs.
I think the clarification on the use is long overdue. The fansite kit had specific instructions to use the logo and now appears to be gone. I wish this had been clarified at the beginning.
I feel the pain of those who invested time and money in using the name in variations that seemed acceptable at the time. Not that I post much but in solidarity deal me in.

Just to let everyone know, I plan to close this thread at the close of the strike. (Plus a few hours, actually -- I don't get back home from work until about 1:00 a.m.) I wasn't planning on so much discussion; just a simple rough idea of who was participating. Reading the frank and vigorous exchange of ideas has been interesting, and given me tidbits for thought to chew over.
